Ahead of her atomweight clash with Thai superstar Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, the 24-year-old has been in full preparation mode as she intends to shock the world in her first mixed martial arts bout.
She leaves Cambodia on Tuesday for Bangkok, but even if she will miss Valentine’s Day in her home country, the young talent aims to send her loved ones a thought.
“I don’t have a boyfriend, so [Valentine’s Day] is just another day and I don’t actually think it is very important,” says Nou Srey Pov.
“Instead, I like to celebrate my love for my parents and friends.”
If she would have stayed back in Cambodia during the festivities, Srey Pov thinks that she would have spent 14 February with her close friend and fellow ONE Championship athlete Vy “Pretty Punch” Srey Khouch.
“I normally celebrate with Srey Khouch and one of my sisters,” Srey Pov explains.
“We don’t do much. We spend time together and eat something special like barbecue.”

The rising Khmer star will have a tough test ahead of her on Saturday as she will take on “Tiny Doll” in front of the Thai hero’s hometown crowd.
Even though she will be away during Valentine’s Day, Srey Pov plans to celebrate extra large when she returns to “The Kingdom Of Wonder.”
“All I wish for right now is to come back with the victory,” she states.
If Srey Pov were to upset ishige, then the whole world will know her name. In fact, she already imagines how that celebration would transpire.
“If I win, I want to celebrate with a party where I would invite my elders and contribute with some money for them,” says the Kun Khmer World Champion. “That’s all I want to do.”
